Each farmer had worked with us before, in Hunter Jackson, Ian Torrance, Ian MacKerrel, Raymond Fletcher, Mark French, Alistair Torrance, and Raymond Stewart with father and son team Donald and Andrew Jones. Our community’s commitment to Islay is embodied here, where local barley is raised, distilled, matured, and bottled only on Islay.

Octomore 14.3 is distilled from barley grown on Islay, on one singular farm just two miles from Bruichladdich Distillery. Matured in a combination of first fill ex American whiskey casks and second fill wine casks, the oak influences but never dominates the grain – capturing the terroir and unique flavour of the Islay barley. Aromas of hot, sweet mash are unmistakable on the nose, with soft biscuit notes of malted barley, butterscotch, honeycomb and smouldering peat. Peated to 214.2 PPM.

Bruichladdich Distillery extends the exceptional range of the Port Charlotte brand with Port Charlotte SC:01. For the first time in this cask series, this bottling contains 100% barley from the island of Islay. The harvest of the barley was carried out in 2011 by seven agricultural partners of the distillery, which are located no more than 10 miles away. The 9-year maturation of the single malt began in hand-selected sherry casks and first- and second-fill American whiskey casks.
