Juicy Salif is a stainless steel juicer designed in 1988 by Philippe Starck for Alessi.Created by the brilliant designer Philippe Starck, Alessi's Juicy Salif juicer goes beyond the mere function of a utensil, furnishing and enriching the kitchen with great style and personality. While on a beach vacation in Italy, the designer sketched out on a restaurant place mat the idea for what would become an iconic design object. Both revolutionary and surprisingly functional, this juicer by Alessi is a perfect example of a single-material design, essential and dynamic in structure. The latter, with its animalistic features, presents a central body in the shape of an inverted drop and three long legs, which allude to the shape of a spider. Starck's juicer does not overlook aesthetics and functionality, proving to be a perfect juicer-sculpture to display in the kitchen, like a small work of art.

Juicy Salif citrus squeezer in aluminum by Philippe Starck in 1990. One of the first projects by French designer Philippe Starck for Alessi. The Juicy Salif was devised in the second half of the 1980s along with the Walter Wayle II wall clock the Hot Bertaa kettle and the large Max le Chinois colander.
